Our mission
To increase awareness and support of the arts in our community, we promote the value of art in education and community life in South Puget Sound. We do this by supporting activities, projects and programs that give young people an opportunity to deepen and extend their experience with art in education, and by raising money to stimulate public appreciation for, and interaction with, the artists who live in our community.

What is POSSCA?
POSSCA is a non-profit organization formed in 1968 by a group of local business people. POSSCA’s Board and donors are dedicated to the development and promotion of art and cultural activities in the southern Puget Sound region.

We flourish because of the hard work of our volunteers and the dedicated support and generosity of our patrons.

Why raise money for the study of the arts in education?
We believe in the profound value of an arts education to promote positive self-expression and life-long learning.

Why raise money to support our experience of the arts as a community?
We believe that a thriving arts scene is an excellent barometer for quality of life in our community. When the arts scene is alive and dynamic, we believe it has a profound and positive impact on education, business and private life.

Our local stage productions, independent filmmakers, our artists and musicians are compelling testimony to the great strength of this democracy and its ability to understand, innovate, renew and overcome.
